All about safety

We know that trusting someone with your kids is a big deal. It’s a big deal to us, too. That’s why safety isn’t just a policy here; it’s part of how we love and serve your family. We want you to drive away knowing your child is in good hands so you can enjoy your morning, too!

Here is exactly how we keep VBS safe and secure:
Every Volunteer is Screened & Trained
We don’t cut corners here. Every single adult leader—from the stage to the snack room—has undergone a strict background check and received specific safety training. We know exactly who is hanging out with your kids, and we’ve vetted them to ensure they are safe, trusted, and ready to lead.
Secure Check-In & Check-Out
When you arrive, you’ll use our secure tag system. You’ll get a matching security tag that is unique to your family. Hold on to this! For your child’s protection, we will only release them to the person who presents that matching tag at pick-up. No tag, no kid—no exceptions. It’s a simple way we make sure every child leaves with the right person.
On-Site Security & Medical Team
We have a dedicated security team on campus throughout the entire event, monitoring the halls and outdoor areas to keep everything locked down and safe. We also have a medical team ready to jump in for anything from a scraped knee to an allergic reaction, so your child gets immediate care if they need it.

FAQ’s

"My child has allergies. Will they be safe?"
We get it—navigating food allergies is stressful, and we don’t take it lightly. Just make sure to note your child's specific needs on the registration form so our team can have their safe snack ready to go!
"What if I don’t go to Hope?"
You do not need to be a member of Hope Baptist to attend! In fact, many of our VBS families come from all over Lebanon and the surrounding community. We’d love to have you, whether you have a church home or not.
"What should my child wear?"
Dress them for a mess! We play hard, do crafts, and sometimes get a little wet or sticky. Please send them in comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
"My child has special needs. Is there a place for them?"
Absolutely. We believe every child belongs here. If your child needs extra support, specific sensory accommodations, or a "buddy" to help them navigate the morning, please let us know on your registration form. We will reach out to you personally to make sure we have a plan in place for them to succeed.
"Can my child be in the same group as their friend?"
Yes! We know everything is better with a buddy. There is a spot on the registration form to request a friend. As long as they are in the same grade, we will do our very best to group them together so they feel comfortable from minute one.
"What happens if my child gets upset or cries?"
Separation anxiety happens, especially with our younger adventurers! Our leaders are awesome at comforting and engaging kids quickly. If your child is inconsolable after a reasonable amount of time, or if they just need a familiar face, we will use the contact number you provide at registration and check-in to text or call you immediately. You are never more than a phone call away.
